Youth Oasis Supports Organizations with Awareness

Baton Rouge- For April, Youth Oasis will highlight prevention and advocacy for Child Abuse Awareness month. The organization will support and cross share other organizations' work to end and advocate for child abuse. With all things centering on youth wellness, financial literacy and youth volunteering will be amplified on our social media platforms, providing the public with education for youth to learn the importance of money management and volunteering in their communities.

There are over 4 million child abuse cases in America, and there are many grassroots organizations on the ground working diligently with communities to end this crisis. Over 30 organizations in America have centered their mission and advocacy to child abuse and neglectIn Baton Rouge regions, Child Advocacy Service are planning events centering child abuse, such as their annual Blue Pinwheel Garden, which raises awareness and funding for their services. They also have Parent Cafe Tuesdays, their safe space online event for youth to share their stories with a trained Forensic Interviewer available every first and third Tuesday of each month from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

The impact of youth volunteering in their communities and gaining financial literacy creates sustainable communities in the future. Every year many youth embark on an average of 52 hours of volunteering and community service. Youth are also opening bank accounts and aiming to budget better than previous generations due to increased access to programs and resources on financial literacy.

We believe in community support and it takes a village to help youth!  Donations and funding to support Youth Oasis  will be greatly appreciated.
